Sometimes it's hard to figure out who Tiger is. Afterall we don't specialise in one element of support. If anything our specialism is people.
Over the years we have adapted to need and our projects have grown organically in response to those needs.
We are operating out of All Souls Community Centre in Radford, but also get out and about to events and working in partnership with other community groups.
We currently have 3 key core projects, but even those incorporate more.
Tiger Eats
Obviously food focused. It started so that we could continue to provide our meals for the community. Based around producing chilled meals every fortnight, these can be collected from All Souls or Sumac Centre.
We then added our cafe last winter (despite not receiving funding) because there was a need for a warm, safe space throughout the colder months.
This year we have also been doing cook and eat sessions with groups, including regularly at Windmill Community Gardens.
Since leaving Listergate we have also continued to feed the guests at Trent Dementia once a month.
You will also find us with a 'streetfood' stall at events, including Nottingham Green Festival.
Tiger Green Textiles
Set up to bring people together to learn and share skills and ideas around recycling and upcycling.
We run classes, (these are subsidised when we have funding), Cook in a Box workshops (a cross over with Tiger Eats) helping people to save energy costs, and run drop in workshops at events. Our Covid legacy is that we still make items for the community including drain bags, heart cushions and toiletry bags.
We also make items that we sell online and when we are out and about at events, helping a little bit with covering our overheads.
The Super Project
Reusable menstrual pads first came up at our sewing classes, so were designed so that our ladies could make their own.
Discovering the rise of period poverty during Covid pushed us to do something and so the Super Project was born.
In order for us to have a positive impact we combine education with donating pads to those in period poverty. This can only be done because the project is run by volunteers and the pads are made by volunteers.
We continue to strive to do more. That is why we are still running our crowdfunder.
If you have received help and support from Tiger please consider making a donation so that we can continue on our journey supporting people.
